Gyermelyi Vita Pasta durum Szarvacska

What is durum pasta?
It is made from durum flour, without the use of eggs. Durum wheat is richer in protein than everyday wheat, and it is also easier to handle, which is why it is easy to make pasta from it. In addition, it consists of complex carbohydrates, which are an excellent source of energy. So if you consume it with the right ingredients, such as vegetables and fish, it can also be incorporated into your healthy diet. It also causes a feeling of fullness easily. Therefore, it can also become part of a weight-loss diet, as you do not need to consume much of it to feel full.

We recommend it with curried turkey strips, roasted peppers and Szarvacska pasta.
Ingredients
400 g Gyermelyi 4-egg Szarvacska, 400 g turkey breast, 250 g coloured peppers, 4 green onions, 100 g zucchini, 1 dl olive oil, 1 bunch of coriander greens, salt, ground pepper, ground Roman cumin, 1 tablespoon of green curry paste.
Preparation
- Clean and wash the vegetables.
- Clean, wash and dry the meat as well. Cut into thin strips. Fry in half of the oil over high heat, season with salt and pepper, and set aside.
- In the other half of the oil, fry the sliced vegetables over high heat until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with Roman cumin, chopped coriander and add the curry paste.
- Stir and add the meat, add some of the pasta cooking water, and when it has come together, remove from heat. Stir in the cooked, drained but unwashed pasta and serve.

Gyermelyi Zrt. is Hungary's leading pasta manufacturer, largest egg producer and an indispensable player in the milling industry. In addition, it carries out agricultural activities on an area of 8,800 hectares, operating a closed vertical integration. It all started on 21 January 1953, when twelve farmers from Gyermely, unable to bear the increasingly impossible burdens of individual farming, founded the Petőfi Cooperative. In 1970, the government decided to build a pasta factory, for which they were looking for a location. Gyermely's reputable cooperative undertook the task and was given the opportunity. This is how Gyermelyi Zrt. was founded.
