HOLDVÖLGY grew out of a small parcel given as a birthday gift. Today, all 30 parcels of the 28-hectare Mád estate are located in 7 different, historically classified vineyards.
On the Estate, all 6 authorized Tokaj grape varieties are cultivated with maximum care and attention. The key to their uniqueness lies in patiently understanding each parcel, careful viticulture that seeks natural balance, and winemaking based on tradition with a modern spirit.
The estate center was also born under the sign of exceptionality: the extremely modern winery building blends into the traditional overall picture of the wine region and reveals the underlying, centuries-old, nearly 2 km long cellar system, where their excellent quality sweet and dry white wines mature. The HOLDVÖLGY Cellar Tour experience was awarded the "Best Cellar Tour" prize twice in a row (2016, 2017) by VinCE Awards; while thanks to the positive reviews of Tripadvisor adventurers, they also received the "Traveller’s Choice 2020" award.
Their wines boast numerous gold medals won at national and international wine competitions, and are also featured on the exclusive wine lists of many Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide.
In 2018, as the winner of the "Producer Category", they received the Par Excellence professional award from the Hungarian Sommelier Association, and in the same year, the HOLDVÖLGY estate center building complex was honored with an international architectural award by the A’Design Award committee in Milan.
