Jackfruit (Jackfruit)

Jackfruit is the world's largest tree-borne fruit, originating from South and Southeast Asia. Its size can be enormous, and its flesh is exceptionally fibrous, yellow in color, and has a distinct exotic taste. Its aroma is sweetish, and its taste resembles a mix of mango, banana, and pineapple, making it a true delicacy when consumed fresh.

Young, unripe jackfruit is fleshy, has a more neutral taste, and a fibrous texture — which is why it's a popular ingredient in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, as it's an excellent 'meat substitute,' for example, in pulled pork-style dishes.

It is rich in fiber, Vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants, and is also very filling.
It can be consumed fresh, boiled, baked, or as a base for various dishes.
