Producer Information

In the early 1960s, Arch West, an employee of Frito-Lay, noticed the popularity of tortilla chips sold at the Casa de Fritos restaurant in Disneyland and convinced his company to produce them. Marketing began in California in 1964, and the Doritos brand appeared on the North American market in 1966.

In 1967, management decided to introduce one of the brand's prominent flavours, Doritos nacho cheese.

Doritos were marketed in France in 1994 under the BN brand name, also belonging to PepsiCo, and then in Belgium in 1996.
