In 1862, Don Facundo Bacardí Massó created Bacardi in Santiago de Cuba, the world's first pure, aged, smooth-tasting white rum, which became the original ingredient for popular cocktails such as MOJITO, CUBA LIBRE, PIÑA COLADA, and DAIQUIRI. Bacardi rum is still made today according to the original recipe under the personal supervision of the rum-blending masters ("Maestros de Ron BACARDI"). The Bacardi company remains family-owned, still managed by the descendants of Don Facundo Bacardí, and continues to adhere to the standards laid down by the founder over 150 years ago.

Product Description

• In Bacardi Carta Blanca rum, the almond and vanilla aromas are distinctly present, yet not overpowering. It is the classic base for Mojito. It is the most widely used rum in the world.
• A classic white rum with distinct vanilla and almond notes due to oak barrel aging. Its smoothness and softness come from column still distillation and charcoal filtration.

Producer Information

The company was founded in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardi Masso, of Spanish origin, in Santiago de Cuba. In 1877, the company won its first gold medal at the world exhibition in Spain for its quality. They threw out the rulebook and created their own blends with a revolutionary rum-making process that would forever change how rum is made.
