About the brand
Their story began in Brighton, England, in 1976. It all started with the founder, who believed in something revolutionary - that business could be a tool for "good". Following her vision, they have been groundbreaking, honest, and change-makers for over 40 years. Back then, the business was just a tiny, green-painted boutique fragrant on one of Brighton's streets. It was completely different, inside and out, from other big companies in the cosmetics industry. Yet it was completely simple - ethically sourced, natural ingredients from all over the world. The products and beauty rituals were made for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or background, so that every customer could feel good in their own skin. While never promising that they could make them different. When The Body Shop started, beauty was a rather narrowly defined idea of how a girl or woman should look. But The Body Shop had its own opinion on this. It believed that beauty was a source of joy, comfort, and confidence all in one. It's about what you love about yourself and what truly makes you happy. Beauty products were primarily a moment of self-love in daily rituals, rather than tempting with false promises of slimming or wrinkle reduction.
