A rich-aromatic, full-bodied red wine from Szekszárd, recommended for those who appreciate complex, characterful blends.

• On the nose: dark berries (plum, blackberry), pervasive Bordeaux aromas, subtle spices and barrel notes (vanilla, toast) mingle.
• On the palate: full, velvety tannins; rich fruitiness, good structure; the loess soil's characteristics are reflected in the specific gravity, but the acids keep the wine fresh; long, elegant finish.

Producer Information - Thoughts by Vida Péter

During my high school years, our family purchased 600 square fathoms of land in Bakta, a wonderful place where, in a world representing old values, land could never be bought, only inherited. Since I studied viticulture, it was primarily my and my siblings' task to cultivate the vines.

I decided to enter our family's Kadarka wine in the local wine competition, under my father's name, of course, doing so without anyone knowing. One Sunday morning, my father was reading the local newspaper, and it announced in large letters that Sándor Vida's Kadarka had won first place. My father was a very strict man, but then a tear glistened in his eye. He hugged me and said: "You'll see, the Lord will repay this." This parental thought once again strengthened my conviction that wine is worth dedicating oneself to.
