Ingredients
- 250 g sushi rice
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 100 g sushi topping (e.g., shrimp, mackerel slice, octopus, salmon or tuna)
- Nori (dried seaweed) – optional
- Soy sauce, wasabi, pickled ginger for serving
Preparation
- Preparing the rice: Rinse the sushi rice under cold water, then cook according to instructions. Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, then add to the still hot rice and gently mix. Let it cool.
- Shaping sushi: When making nigiri, form small oval rice balls. For maki, spread the rice on a nori sheet, place the topping on it, and roll it up.
- Adding the topping: Place a slice of fish or shrimp on top of each nigiri and gently press it down. For sushi rolls, you can also place the slices on top of the roll, then gently press them into the rice.
- Serving: Serve with wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger. Enjoy your meal!
Storage
Store frozen. Do not refreeze after thawing.
