The popularity of Pepero has been greatly boosted by Pepero Day, held on November 11th (11.11), when people give each other Pepero sticks – similar to Valentine's Day. The name and date of the celebration refer to the shape of the sticks (1-1-1-1, like four thin sticks). Pepero is now known worldwide, especially among fans of Asian sweets.
