Pannonhalmi Hemina Red 14.5%
The wine is characterized by a fine tannin structure due to the predominance of Merlot, while the notes of Cabernet Franc give the wine its framework and structure. Due to the short aging in Hungarian oak barrels used several times, the fruitiness of the wine is dominant against the barrique notes. Its balanced alcohol content brings its blackberry aromas and flavors to the fore, which are nicely supported by the body of the wine. A fine-structured, fruity and elegant, yet substantial Pannonhalmi Bordeaux.

Producer information
The grapes from the plantations of the Pannonhalmi Apátsági Pincészet are processed in the new cellar and wine house built at the foot of the monastery, with an area of almost 2000 square meters, which is located at the southeastern foot of Szent Márton Hill. A complex was built for the processing of grapes and the aging of wine, which fits into the landscape and makes good use of the topographical conditions, allowing visitors to the Winery to gain a complete insight into the work of winemaking and its results.
The cellar technology corresponding to the varietal structure is suitable for the production of more than 300,000 bottles of quality wine per year. They have introduced an unconventional winemaking process that preserves the high quality potential of their grape varieties to the fullest extent. This is based on the four-storey processing building, where gravitational material handling is possible. The must of the white grapes is transferred to the temperature-controlled corrosion-resistant steel fermentation room, the fermentation of the red grapes is carried out in wooden vats and metal tanks with adjustable temperature, and the aged red wines are aged in the cellar branches extending into the interior of the hill, but some white wines are also aged there in small oak barrels.
