Szafi Life Protein-rich falafel base (gluten-free)

The Szafi Life Protein-rich Falafel Base is guaranteed to be gluten-free and vegan, so it does not contain any animal products at all. Despite this, it is rich in vegetable protein, and its dietary fibre content is outstanding. During its preparation, the falafel does not absorb much oil, so it contains less fat and calories than its traditional counterparts, so it can be safely consumed even in the case of an energy-reduced diet (e.g. weight loss, muscle-building diet).
This falafel base does not contain additives, preservatives, industrial fats, added sugar or modified starch. Due to its composition, it provides a slowly absorbable carbohydrate source, so its glycemic index is low.
It is a significant source of vegetable protein, so you do not have to worry about protein deficiency even in a vegan or vegetarian diet, and it can also hold its own on meatless days. It is also a good alternative for athletes to replace animal protein.

Falafel recipe

Ingredients (for 1 serving of falafel - approx. 15 pieces, depending on size):

• 125g Szafi Life Protein-rich falafel base
•  170g boiling water
• coconut oil for frying

Preparation

• Mix the base mixture with the hot water and work it thoroughly with a wooden spoon
•  Cover and cool to lukewarm (approx. 15 minutes)
•  Then form walnut-sized balls from the mass with wet hands.

Frying (in oil)

Heat enough oil over medium heat to half cover the falafels, then fry for about 2 - 2.5 minutes per side. Feel free to fry in plenty of oil, the balls will not absorb the fat.
