Producer information

The Budapest Dairy Company started producing the original Soviet dessert (in the Soviet Union, an ancestor of the dessert filled with a curd-butter-sugar mixture, vanilla flavoured, chocolate-coated, already existed under the name "glazirovannij szirok") in 1968, the idea was brought to Hungary during a study trip between the COMECON countries. It was first produced in the Szabolcstej dairy plant in Mátészalka, then production also started in the Zalkatej dairy plant in Nagybánhegyes. Following the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatised, as a result of which the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Even today, the Pöttyös brand enjoys incredible success, as every age group can find their favourite flavour. Pöttyös products are more than just a treat to us Hungarians. They are always with us and always bring a smile to our face, putting us in a good mood!
