Szekszárd Hidaspetre Cabernet Franc 2019
It gets its name from the Hidaspetre vineyard, which is one of the best vineyards in Szekszárd, with a south-eastern exposure and a soil of heavy clay and limestone. The grapes are harvested from 35-year-old vines, and yield restrictions are applied to obtain the best possible fruit. They are hand-picked into 15 kg crates. Double sorting is used: first, the bunches are sorted, then the grapes are sorted, and only completely healthy grapes are put into the fermenter. 21 days of skin fermentation is applied, while the mash is gently macerated, followed by 2 years of aging in oak barrels, when the wines mature nicely.
Description
Dark red in color, with aromas of dried plums and red forest fruits. The oak barrel aging results in mild vanilla and cinnamon flavors. Its taste is round, fruity, and well-defined. Its finish is long and spicy. Cabernet Franc is a very pleasant, full-bodied, rich red wine.
Serving suggestion
Recommended serving temperature is 16 °C.

"I can remember back to my great-grandfather, although my grandparents, parents, everyone was involved in grapes and wine. My great-grandfather was the most successful, he already had the grapes sorted 3-4 times and made selection wines. In fact, he had a crusher that also destemmed. My great-grandfather was a good winemaker and viticulturist. He was also a hill judge, so my grandmother was registered as Julianna Soós, the daughter of the hill judge." - Pál Mészáros
