Bombay Sapphire Gin is a unique and balanced premium gin, one of the world's leading gin brands. It is easily recognizable by the special shape of its bottle and its distinctive sapphire blue color.

Product Information

The Bombay Sapphire gin is based on a recipe conceived in 1761. The idea for the blue bottle was born in 1987, thanks to the master distiller at the time, who complemented the original 8-spice recipe with two extra spices: grains of paradise and cubeb berries. The blue bottle and the name evoke the period when Queen Victoria was gifted a 182-carat blue sapphire by the city of Bombay. This stone can now be seen in the National Museum in Washington.

Producer Information

The company was founded in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardi Masso, of Spanish origin, in Santiago de Cuba. In 1877, the company won its first gold medal at the World Exhibition in Spain for its quality. They threw out the rulebook and created their own blends using a revolutionary rum-making process that would forever change the way rum is made.

Bacardi is the world's largest, wholly family-owned spirits company, producing and distributing spirits and mixed drinks in over 100 countries. Bacardi rum is one of the best-selling rum brands worldwide.
