Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva is blended from distillates made with three different distillation techniques, and distilled from sugar cane honey, which makes it richer and sweeter than average rum. This drink, which also contains 12-year-old rums, not only possesses the brand's characteristic sweet-fruity notes but also has a very concentrated and intense character.

Producer Information

Diplomático is a family business; they handle everything from cultivation to bottling to create excellent quality rums. The brand was founded in 1959 and is owned by Destilerías Unidas S. A.

Its distillery is located at the foot of the Andes, in Venezuela. Proximity to sugar processing plants was an important consideration when choosing the location. The Unidas distillery, which produces the most diverse types of rum in Latin America, is located in the heart of the stunning Terepaima National Park. Furthermore, it is one of the rare facilities in the world capable of producing not only rum but also gin, whisky, vodka, brandy, and countless liqueurs – and not just any quality.

The labels of Diplomatico rums feature Don Juancho – a local nobleman, or mantuano – who traveled extensively in the Caribbean at the end of the 19th century and passionately collected various spirits. Locals knew him as a very pleasant, smooth man, and he often offered his friends from "Ambassador's Reserve". Diplomatico thus follows Don Juancho's personality in both its name and character.
