Ingredients
- 250 g sushi rice
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 100 g sushi topping (e.g., shrimp, mackerel slice, octopus, salmon or tuna)
- Nori (dried seaweed) – optional
- Soy sauce, wasabi, pickled ginger for serving
Preparation
- Preparing the rice: Rinse the sushi rice under cold water, then cook according to instructions. Mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, then add to the still hot rice and mix gently. Let it cool.
- Shaping the sushi: For nigiri, form small oval rice balls., For maki, spread the rice on a nori sheet, place the topping on it, and roll it up.
- Adding the topping: Place a slice of fish or shrimp on top of each nigiri and press gently. For sushi rolls, you can also place the slices on top of the roll, then gently press them into the rice.
- Serving: Serve with wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger. Enjoy your meal!
Storage
Store frozen. Do not refreeze after thawing.
