BioOrto is an Italian family business founded in 2003 by Nino Passalacqua. His grandparents, Giulia and Pietro, settled in Tavoliere delle Puglie to cultivate the low-lying pastures. The Passalacqua family owns more than 500 hectares in the north of Apulia, at the foot of the Gargano National Park. The special Mediterranean microclimate, the mineral water filtered through the mainland enriches and fertilizes the soil. They grow typical organic vegetables of the region, including organic tomatoes. Bio Orto produces tasty Italian tomato specialties, including tomato passata, hand-peeled tomatoes and various tomato sauces, including basil or chili. The tomatoes are harvested and sorted by hand. If necessary, they are dried in the Mediterranean sun and marinated in extra virgin olive oil (e.g. dried tomatoes). This high-quality olive oil is also produced by Bio Orto itself.
Store at room temperature, protected from light.
