Producer information

Áts Karcsi has been preparing to be a winemaker since his childhood, he finished secondary school at the Soós István Vocational Secondary School in Budafok, then graduated from the University of Horticulture as a viticulturist and winemaker. The change of regime caught him at the Tokaj Trading House, when he was asked to be the chief winemaker of the English-owned Royal Tokaji Winery founded in 1990, where he worked until 2012. The year 2012 was a watershed in Karcsi's life, when his daughter Dóri announced that she wanted to be a winemaker. Dóri's announcement was soon followed by action. Within the family, there were 3.5 hectares of Mád vineyards, in the Szent Tamás, Suba and Betsek vineyards, and a small cellar with a press house in Tarcal. With these foundations, they founded the Áts Family Winery that same year.
